Q: What is WX-ONE VPC?
WX-ONE VPC is a virtual private cloud in which you run your cloud resources within a logically isolated, self-defined address space. You control subnets, routing, security rules, and connectivity – entirely in GDPR-compliant data centers in Germany.
Q: Where is my network data processed?
Exclusively in our data centers in Germany, certified to ISO 27001:2022. This keeps you fully in control of your data and lets you meet strict compliance requirements.
Q: Who is WX-ONE VPC for?
For organizations with multi-tier applications, distributed teams, and hybrid infrastructures that need reliable addressing, optimized traffic management, and secure VPN connections – for example in finance, healthcare, e-commerce, and the public sector.
IP addressing
Q: Do you support IPv4 and IPv6?
Yes. You can assign both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses to your resources and use flexible allocation options.
Q: How is pricing for public IPs structured?
Public IPs are billed hourly on the on-demand model. If you commit for 12 months, you receive a discounted flat rate per address.
Q: Can I keep a fixed IP beyond the lifetime of a single server?
Yes. Public IPs can be held independently of individual instances and reassigned to new resources when needed – ideal for services that must keep the same address permanently.
Traffic and bandwidth
Q: How is data traffic billed?
Inbound traffic and the first 200 GB of outbound traffic are free of charge. Beyond that, tiered on-demand rates apply that become cheaper as volume grows. Alternatively, you can secure guaranteed bandwidth via an MBit/s commitment.
Q: What does traffic between availability zones cost?
Cross-zone traffic is charged at a low, predictable per-gigabyte rate – for both directions when you are both sender and receiver.
Q: Am I protected against network-based attacks?
Yes. Built-in DDoS protection monitors and filters attacks at the network level before they reach your services.
VPN and security
Q: Which VPN types are offered?
We support encrypted IPSec tunnels for standards-compliant site-to-site connections as well as GRE tunnels for flexible encapsulation of multiple protocols.
Q: How do I control access to my resources?
Using security groups at the resource level and network ACLs at the subnet level, you define in a granular way which traffic is allowed or blocked.
Q: Can I connect my VPC to on-premises data centers?
Yes. Via IPSec or GRE tunnels you securely connect your own sites, branch offices, or other clouds, creating a hybrid infrastructure.
